Consider Joining Us!
We need members, and can offer you skills, excitement and the satisfaction of helping those in need. People as young as 16 can join. And the training is free!
To become a member you must either be an EMT-B currently certified by New Jersey or become an EMT by successfully completing a comprehensive 120 hour training course given by the State. We will pay the tuition through the NJ Training Fund; the course won’t cost you anything.
You can find details about becoming a certified EMT at the Bergen County EMS Training Center site here.
Our members typically are on call for one 12-hour shift – either daytime or nighttime – every week, and one 24-hour weekend shift once a month. As long as you can get to our building within 4 minutes of an alarm being sounded, you can spend your shift at home.
We also have regular meetings twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month.
