In May of 1998 by order of Senate and House
of Representatives resolutions S.Con.Res 55 and H.Con.Res 171,
respectively, the National EMS Memorial in Roanoke, Virginia was
officially recognized as the official EMS Memorial of the United
States.
This year on May 28 at 07:00EDT Emergency
Medical Services Personnel will gather to remember our fallen
brothers and sisters that gave their lives so that others might
live.
The service consists of a family member or
departmental representative being given a United States flag
that has flown over the Capitol building, a white rose, and a
medallion. The flag denotes service to country, the rose for
their undying love, and the medallion for their eternal memory.
